Im Mai waren wir 4 Tage in Paris. Da wir bereits in New York jede Menge Museen gesehen hatten, haben wir uns den ganzen Kultur-Kram gespart und sind einfach jeden Morgen an einer Metro-Station ausgestiegen und gelaufen …

Die Anreise mit dem Flugzeug kann man sich schenken. Inklusive Anreise zum Flughafen mit Zeitpuffer, Flugzeit und Transfer von Charles de Gaulle in die Innenstadt vergehen gut fünf Stunden. Etwas weniger Zeit braucht man mit dem Zug von Frankfurt nach Paris Nord, und preislich gesehen geben sich die beiden nicht viel — von den CO²-Einsparungen mal ganz abgesehen.

Die Stadt an sich ist unglaublich schön. An jeder Ecke gibt es kleine Gässchen und tolle Sehenswürdigkeiten. Um einen Überblick zu bekommen haben wir die Segway Tour gemacht — in Paris darf man ganz normal im Straßenverkehr mit dem Segway fahren!

The location is good, only 10 minutes to central Paris via metro. The noisy street makes it impossible to leave the windows open by night which makes the rooms very warm in summer nighhts due to the lack of a/c.

Breakfast (7 €) ist good if you’re in a hurry with no time to look someplace else.

Die Lage ist gut, man ist in 10 Minuten in der Innenstadt, lediglich der Lärm der Einfallsstraße ist nachts so stark, dass man die Fenster zur Straße nicht offen lassen kann – mangels Klima-Anlage wird es dann im Sommer ziemlich warm im Zimmer.

Das Frühstück (7 €) ist gut, wenn man keine Zeit hat, sich in Paris einen besseren Platz zum Frühstücken zu suchen.

Auf dem Marche de l’Art et de la Creation in Paris.

Small, out-of-the-ordinary restaurant which serves Basque specialties. Gets crowded during lunchtime so come early! The place is small and you will have to share your table with others, mostly young Parisians. We had the “Omelette Basque” (7,5 €) and the “Salad du 5 Diamants” (9 €) with a Corona (4 €) glass of muscatel (4,50 €). The huge salad is served with feta cheese, liver, potato slices and egg in a metal bowl. The omelet was fantastic, too. The portions may be a little too much for lunch. The prices are affordable-low budget for Paris. The nice quartier with its tiny streets where "Chez Gladines" is located invites for a after-dinner walk.

Kleines, alternatives Restaurant in dem baskische Spezialitäten serviert werden. Wir waren mittags da und hatten noch Glück, es wird schnell sehr voll – vor allem jungen Franzosen schauen hier vorbei. Aufgrund der Enge sitzt man meist mit fremden an einem Tische, was aber auch den Charme des Platzes ausmacht. Wir hatten das "Omelette Basque" (7,5 €) und den "Salad du 5 Diamants" (9 €), dazu ein Corona (4 €) und ein Glas Muskateller (4,50 €). Der riesige Salat mit Schafkäse, Lebergeschnetzeltem, Kartoffelscheiben, Ei wird – wie alle Salate im "Chez Gladines" – in großen Metallschüsseln serviert. Das Omelett war ebenfalls sehr lecker und für ein Mittagessen fast zu mächtig. Preislich ist das auf jeden Fall günstig für Pariser Verhältnisse. Auch die Lage lädt ein, nach dem Essen eine ausführlichen Verdauungsspaziergang durch die Gässchen zu machen.

Nevertheless the coffeehouse is nicely located and serves the typical Parisian dishes which are great not too expensive.

Definitely not a tourist trap.

Trotzdem ist das Cafe schön gelegen und die typisch Pariser Snacks und Kleinigkeiten sehr lecker und nicht überteuert.

Prices are ok, the MATSU (16 pcs. sushi) sets you back 19 €, a miso soup 2,40 €. I recommend the genmaicha tea (1,20 €) as the pint Asahi is expensive (6 €). Have the sesame ice (4,50 €) for dessert, it’s fantastic.

Die Preise sind relativ günstig, der MATSU-Teller mit 16 Sushi kostet 19 €, eine Miso-Suppe 2,40 €. Als Getränk hatten wir Genmaicha-Tee für 1,20 € pro Becher, da das große Asahi (6 €) doch ziemlich teuer ist.

Sehr zu empfehlen ist auch das Sesam-Eis (4,50 €) zum Nachtisch.

To sum up, the Segway Tour is great for every Paris visitor. The 120 $ may sound a lot but are very well invested in a fun way to do a sightseeing tour even if the French Segways are limited to 6 mph with turtle mode being off.
