Cons: Our room was located facing the front street with a restaurant across the street which was very noisy until late night. And the towels smelled a little awkward.

Conclusion: I’d recommend this hotel for short city or business trips. The location is perfect as Leidsenplein (5 min walk) is a central departure for many bus and tram lines.

Changes include the support for the “private” Flag which was requested by William Booth.

Fantastic Hotel in Hamburg’s east. From the the metro station "Berliner Tor" it’s a five minute walk.

The hotel is stylish but not over the top. It has a great and friendly atmosphere were you’ll feel at home immediately.

The rooms are simple but colorful, choose from a dozend colors during check-in. They are quiet because of the thick walls and doors but get a little warm in the summer due to the lack of a/c.

Breakfast (7 €) is also great, you’ll get a great choice, good coffee and the buffet is refilled constantly.

Two computers provide free internet access, free WiFi is available, too.

They also rent bikes to their guests (4 € a day) which is a good choice as Hamburg has many bikeways throughout the city.

The staff is always friendly and helpful.

The location is good, only 10 minutes to central Paris via metro. The noisy street makes it impossible to leave the windows open by night which makes the rooms very warm in summer nighhts due to the lack of a/c.

Breakfast (7 €) ist good if you’re in a hurry with no time to look someplace else.

Small, out-of-the-ordinary restaurant which serves Basque specialties. Gets crowded during lunchtime so come early! The place is small and you will have to share your table with others, mostly young Parisians. We had the “Omelette Basque” (7,5 €) and the “Salad du 5 Diamants” (9 €) with a Corona (4 €) glass of muscatel (4,50 €). The huge salad is served with feta cheese, liver, potato slices and egg in a metal bowl. The omelet was fantastic, too. The portions may be a little too much for lunch. The prices are affordable-low budget for Paris. The nice quartier with its tiny streets where "Chez Gladines" is located invites for a after-dinner walk.

Nevertheless the coffeehouse is nicely located and serves the typical Parisian dishes which are great not too expensive.

Definitely not a tourist trap.

Prices are ok, the MATSU (16 pcs. sushi) sets you back 19 €, a miso soup 2,40 €. I recommend the genmaicha tea (1,20 €) as the pint Asahi is expensive (6 €). Have the sesame ice (4,50 €) for dessert, it’s fantastic.

With the "City Segway Tour" by "Fat Tire Bike Tours Paris" you can kill two birds with one stone: Seeing many of Paris’ attractions in a short time and riding the most exciting electronic people transporter of the world.

Before the tour starts there is the obligatory training on the Segway. The tour itself takes you to Paris’ most impressive attractions like the Eiffel tower, the Louvre, the Alexandre III bridge, the Grand and Petit Palais and many more.

Doing the tour by Segway has many advantages. You can zip from one place to another a lot faster than by feet and you don’t have to hassle with the "infantry" as they make room by themselves in respect for the Segway. The elevated stand on the Segway makes you oversee them, too.

To sum up, the Segway Tour is great for every Paris visitor. The 120 $ may sound a lot but are very well invested in a fun way to do a sightseeing tour even if the French Segways are limited to 6 mph with turtle mode being off.

We had the Turkey Bagel (2,95 €) with turkey, salad, tomato, mayonnaise, curry sauce which was replaced with honey-mustard sauce and cress and the Veggie French Bagel (2,70 €) with camembert, rocket, cream cheese and honey-mustard sauce. We chose Flavored Shot Water (1,90 € for 1 pint) with raspberry flavor as drink. The Bagels were very fresh and heavily topped.

Starlight bagels is always worth the visit. Next time we will also check out the various coffee specialties they are offering.

Only the error handling has been changed according to PEAR’s new error handling guidelines «Error Signaling in PHP 5 PEAR packages».

I used __autoload for everything until now. I then removed __autoload and added the “old style” require_once calls.

I testet the app by fetching the start page 100 times on a freshly started apache 2.2 with mod_php 5.2.0 and apc 3.0.12.

The speed increase was about 4%.

For me the speed gain does not legitimate the loss in code quality.

Multiple embedded albums per page are also supported.

The usage of Picasaembed is not limited to WordPress — it’s designed as a standalone library.

Installation

Let’s assume that you want Picasaembed in your WordPress blog.

Copy the files to a new folder named picasaembed in WordPress’ plugins folder and make sure that the webserver has write permission to the cache folder.

Just make sure that the prototype.js is loaded somewhere. You would add it to your header.php file.

As Picasaembed requires a RSS-URL to display the album we need set up a custom field for our post. Let’s assume that we name it picasaembed_rss_url.

In the theme files index.php and single.php (which display the post) we have to add these lines before the the_content() tag to display the album:

There are currently two open bugs. Bug #5836 (Support for files > 2GB) is a pain in the ass to test, so no progress there. I appreciate every help here. Bug #5880 (Support UTF-8 encoding) is a two sided sword. Of course, UTF-8 is the only future proof way to go but unless the original bittorrent programs do not work with UTF-8, File_Bittorrent won’t either. Even if other clients do the original bittorrent programs are the reference implementation.
